He is a member of the American Academy of HIV Medicine, with credentials as an HIV Specialist, and the HIV Medical Association of the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
Connecticut Health Care Group does not limit its delivery of care to HIV alone. Dr. Abriola is highly skilled in managing the medical problems sometimes associated with treatment of HIV, including diabetes, high cholesterol, and hypertension. Dr. Abriola provides total care in one convenient location.
Additionally, Dr. Abriola is deeply concerned about the body shape changes associated with HIV care, known as Lipodystrophy. He works hard to choose medications that limit the development of lipodystrophy. He is constantly reviewing new treatment strategies for managing this problem.
In an effort to improve treatment options for people with HIV, Connecticut Health Care Group has begun to participate in clinical studies. Be sure to inquire about eligibility to participate in the study of new medications.
